Havana and Trinidad, Santiago and Baracoa – this special Caribbean country is one-of-a-kind, and a world-class wonder that warrants a lengthy visit.

Day 1 – Tuesday – Tel Aviv – Madrid – Santiago

An El Al flight from Tel Aviv to Madrid, with a connection to Santiago de Cuba with Cubana Airlines. Landing at nightfall. Transfer to hotel with our representative. Stayover in Melia Santiago Hotel (Five Stars).

Day 2 – Wednesday – Santiago de Cuba

Morning pickup by car. Santiago de Cuba lies on the island’s southern coast and is surrounded by the Sierra Maestra Mountains. The city is known as “the cradle of the revolution”, as it was the site of Castro’s first speech after Batista’s escape.
Recommended tours: the historic center, picturesque squares, the Diego Velasquez Museum (an old building that exemplifies Cuban architecture), the ancient El Moro Fortress that defended the port from pirates, the July 26 Historical Museum (Monacada Army Base) and Santa Ifigenia Cemetery. Santiago is also known as a center for Afro-Cuban Music. It is highly recommended to visit one of the many salsa bars in the city and experience the unique atmosphere. Day 3 – Thursday – Baracoa

A drive east through Guantanamo – to the town of Baracoa. One of the most beautiful drives Cuba has to offer. A visit to La Azabelica coffee farm is recommended.
Recommended tour: a boat ride on the Toa River.
Stayover in El Castillo Hotel (Three Stars) in Baracoa or similar hotel.

Day 4 – Friday – Baracoa – Santiago

In the morning, it is recommended to tour Baracoa, which is the first settlement established by the Spanish in Cuba, and is located between sea and mountains, forests and palm trees, and visit the town museum, the main square and the boardwalk. Afternoon drive back to Santiago. Stayover in Melia Santiago Hotel (Five Stars).

Day 5 – Saturday – Bayemo-Cameguay

A drive north through rural area to Bayemo and then to Cameguay – a 16th century colonial city with many well-preserved houses. A night out on the town is recommended, as the nightlife scene is lively. Stayover in Gran Hotel (Three Stars) in Cameguay, or similar one.

Day 6 – Sunday – Cameguay – Trinidad

A drive along the green Sierra Escambray Mountains to Trinidad. Possibility of a visit to Santa Clara – the city that commemorates the spirit of the revolution, and where Che Guevara’s Mausoleum is located. A drive to the hotel located on the beach. Dinner at the hotel.
In the evening, it is recommended to drive to the center of the old city, soak up the magical atmosphere and dance in the salsa clubs.
Stayover at Brisas on the beach (Four Stars – all included) or a similar hotel.

Day 7 – Monday – Trinidad

Trinidad was built during Spanish rule and has preserved well.
Recommended tour: a walk through the old city’s alleys, a visit to the museums and La Canchanchara Club, which serves a great local cocktail, and the Los Ingenios Valley – where remnants of the golden age of sugar production, such as mills and manors, can still be found.
Stayover at Brisas on the beach (Four Stars – all included) or a similar hotel.

Day 8 – Tuesday – Cienfuegos – Havana

A drive to Cienfuegos, a port city that was built by French immigrants.
Recommended tour: A panoramic tour of the city, a visit to the Terry Theatre and Del Valle Palace. From Cienfuegos, a drive to Havana.
Stayover at Occidental Miramar (Four Stars) or a similar hotel.

Day 9 – Wednesday – Havana

Recommended tour: New and old Havana: Miramar district – a high-end neighborhood with large and luxurious houses, the Malecon boardwalk, the Revolution Square, the Vedado area, El Capitolio and a walk through the alleys and picturesque squares of Havana’s old city, where Cuban music can be heard 24/7.
Stayover at Occidental Miramar (Four Stars) or a similar hotel.

Day 10 – Thursday – Pinar del Rio

Recommended tour: a tour of Vinales Valley in the tobacco farm area in Pinar del Rio. A view of the valley, a visit to the Indian cave that includes underground boating and a view of a pre-historic wall that depicts the development of animal species.
Stayover at Occidental Miramar (Four Stars) or a similar hotel.

Day 11 – Friday – Havana

Another day of touring and fun in this lively city.
Recommended tour: Follow the trail of Ernest Hemingway, including the fisherman’s village of Kohimar, which was the inspiration for “The Old Man and the Sea”. A visit to the house where Hemingway resided in Finca and his favorite hangouts: Floridita restaurant and La Bodeguita Del Medio Bar in the old city.

Day 12 – Saturday – Havana – Varadero

A morning/afternoon drive to the vacation city of Varadero (approx. 2.5 hour drive).

Day 13/14 – Monday/Tuesday – Havana – Madrid – Tel Aviv

A free morning. Fun on the beaches and in the hotel.
Afternoon drive to the airport in Havana (approx. 2.5 hour drive).
Car return and flight to Madrid with Cubana Airlines, connection to Tel Aviv with El Al Airlines.
Landing in Tel Aviv on the 16th in the morning.
